Paytrust has has been one of the most popular online bill management systems. However, the long awaited redesign of its website seems to have abandoned creating a good user experience for a more modern design. This may be due to little or no usability testing. Our advice to Paytrust-- reach out to users and apply good usability practices.

When it comes to the usability of the Presidential Candidates? Blogs, we liked the Dean, Kerry, Kucinich, Sharpton and Bush-Cheney blogs. However, they all need some work from a usability standpoint. Applying good usability practices would make better use of campaign funds, attract young voters,and help all of the candidates to get a better idea of what is important to the electorate.

Today, we came across a new e-government website called www.schoolresults.org. This website has some powerful tools that allow you to check on how well your child?s school, districts or State are doing to improve public education. We describe the site's strengths and weaknesses from the perspective of a parent and comment on its overall usability.

Microsoft bCentral?s Commerce Manager is a very comprehensive and cost effective e-commerce tool for small businesses. However, it requires some customization to improve its usability for customers. Microsoft could also improve e-commerce usability and the overall value of Commerce Manager by providing templates that address usability issues. This has been done with ?Privacy? in the existing package.
